Old Jaffa

One of the world’s oldest cities and home to the oldest seaport in the world. The port has charming atmosphere and nice restaurants. On Saturdays you can find great buys in the artist street fare.

Close to the port is the centerpiece of Old Jaffa, Kedumim Square, a pleasant place to stroll, shop, and enjoy the Jaffa Nights festival.

Flea market and beautiful stone streets as well as charming café streets are only a few of the great reasons to visit this part of the city.

Jaffa is mentioned in both the New and Old Testaments. In the story of Jonah and the Whale, Jonah sailed from Jaffa when trying to flee God.

Jaffa is also the place where Peter raised Tabitha form the dead. You can visit the house of Simon the Tanner – where Peter stayed. It was on the rooftop of this house that Peter had the vision of ‘unclean animals’.
