As a Blazing Torch

This Menora sculpture by Baruch Maayan is featured at the conference hall "Sha'ar haShamayim" on the lower level.

The sculpture is Inspired by the words of the prophet Isaiah over Zion, "For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her vindication shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.” (Isaiah 62:1)

The sculpture stands on a wooden base and is constructed from a combination of stone, iron, copper, silver and gold. Isaiah points out that the same materials were used by King Solomon to build the Temple: "Instead of bronze, I will bring you gold, and silver in place of iron. Instead of wood I will bring you bronze, and iron in place of stones.” (Isaiah 60:17)
